Diversity, inclusiveness, and equal opportunities are fundamental principles for La Tricoterie.

These principles are reflected in all our programming numerous activities related to feminist and gender issues, social mix, cultural diversity, intergenerational encounters...), but extend beyond the activities we offer.

Here are some examples of the measures we have implemented to ensure inclusiveness and the welcome of all in our project.

Installation of gender-neutral toilets

Since the end of 2022, some of our toilets have been adapted and converted into gender-neutral toilets. This is indeed a necessity, especially for transgender, non-binary people, or other members of the LGBTQIA+ community.

These toilets are located on the -1 floor (next to the Boudoir) and are accessible to all people, regardless of the gender they identify with. They are signposted and can also be directed to you by any member of our staff.

Use of inclusive writing

As you may have noticed, this site is written in inclusive script, with the use of the midpoint. We are convinced that language reflects the inequalities in our society, but also constitutes a tool to fight against these inequalities.

However, we want to respect the freedom of each member of our team to write as she/he wishes, whether it be out of conviction or lack of mastery of the grammatical rules of inclusive writing. You will therefore find content from the Knitting Shop in inclusive writing, and others using the neuter masculine rule.

Diversity plan

La Tricoterie has also taken part in a diversity plan, to invite all its staff to commit to fighting against all forms of discrimination.

In this context, we have committed ourselves to the following :

We would like our employees to commit to not discriminating against any person in the context of their work, whether in their relations with colleagues, hierarchical superiors or with external persons (clients, beneficiaries, suppliers, etc.).
The company will not admit or practice direct or indirect discrimination in hiring, remuneration, access to training, promotion, dismissal, or retirement based on criteria of ethnic origin, nationality, religion, disability, gender, sexual orientation, union membership or age.
The company will not permit any behaviour, including gestures, language, and physical contact, that involves sexual obligation, threat, abuse or any other form of exploitation, either within the company or when working for customers.
